Story:-
Kanche is set during the tragic times of world war II when nearly two lakh Indian soldiers fought the biggest war in history. The film depicts the story of Hari Babu(Varun Tej) who falls in love with Sita Devi, a rich princes(Pragya Jaiswal) from the upper caste.
Twist in the tale arises when their love is strongly opposed by Sita’s brother Eeshwar(Niketan Dheer). What will Hari Babu do now ? How will he solve his problems ? and how does he land himself in the prestigious war of all time ?
To know answers to these questions, you need to watch Kanche on the big screen.
Plus Points:-
One needs to credit director Krish for thinking something different and setting a Telugu film amidst the world war II. Varun Tej is amazing as Hari Babu and makes a stunning transformation from his debut film. The way he carries the entire film is pretty impressive. All those who had doubts about his acting capabilities need to watch Kanche to believe it. Varun looks dashing as the aggressive solider and at the same time is sober and lovable during the flash back episodes.
Kanche will be a turning point in Pragya’s film career. She looks stunning and should thank Krish for her big break. Pragya has amazing screen presence and is a star to watch out for. Niketan Dheer makes an impressive debut and suits his role perfectly. All his scenes with Varun have been designed well.
Visuals are top notch and credit should go to the camera department for depicting the war scenes in such a realistic manner. It is nice to see veteran actor Gollapudi in a key role. Srinivas Avasarla has been showcased humorously and he too, does a wonderful job. First half of the film is quite gripping with some interesting war and romantic scenes.
Minus Points:-
Kanche is one film which does not have any commercial angle. It is purely a film with single point agenda and flows on a very serious note. All those who are expecting pop corn entertainment or masala action will be disappointed big time. There are certain logics regarding the war front which go missing.
The story gets predictable and narration gets slow during the second half. After a point, the proceedings of war front and the way Hari Babu goes about his mission lacks the required intensity.
The high voltage emotions which are generally associated with Krish’s films are certainly missing in Kanche. There are no such particular moments in the film which are awe inspiring or make you feel ecstatic.
Technical Aspects:-
As said earlier, Kanche has some top notch visuals. The flavor in the war scenes is of international standards. Credit should go to art director Sahi Suresh for depicting the film in a realistic way. The way he has lit up the sets, created weapons or transformed the village back in time, everything looks superb.
Editing is decent and so is the music. Background score needs a special mention as it elevates the film to a decent level. Dialogues and lyrics are top class and have been written with a lot of depth.
Coming to the director Krish, he has done a decent job and nicely sets the film in the war backdrop. His screenplay is impressive but he falters in evoking much intensity from the war zone part and slows the film down during the second half.
Verdict:-
Tollywood has become an industry which is no longer associated with only commercial entertainers. Films like Baahubali, Rudrama Devi and now Kanche, have pushed the boundaries beyond everyone’s expectations. Krish should be truly appreciated for attempting a film which takes Telugu films to another level. A realistic back drop, gripping visuals and stunning performance by Varun Tej are major assets. Barring the slow narration, Kanche is a film which is devoid of masala entertainment and should be given a shot for its daring and different attempt.

Dirty Picture Movie Review
What happens when a movie that stresses upon 'Entertainment, Entertainment and Entertainment' gets dipped into moments of predictability? Sounds like bad news doesn't it?
The hype generated before the release of the movie is such, that it's bound to set the cash registers ringing for quite sometime.
Just when we thought Bollywood has come of age (with Vidya's on-your-face raunchy act in the trailers) Milan Luthria pulls the curtains on it by throwing in the predictable factor in its wake.
The filmmakers, from the very beginning, had the intention of having 'The Dirty Picture' 'shock' the viewers, and what better way of adding shock value than by using sex? While many people might rave about how liberating it is for for Indian Cinema to see a film showcase such a bold subject, viewers wanting to see a celebration of the subject might be disappointed.
'The Dirty Picture' isn't all that dirty after all. The dirt, in the film is the mindset of people; Men, to be precise. The one idea that runs throughout the film is that 'all men are lecherous' and it is this factor that leads to the rise and subsequent fall of the protagonist of the film, Silk, portrayed by Vidya Balan.
Vidya Balan is glorious in the film, perhaps the only good reason for you to watch the film. Vidya is in full character as the leading dancing queen of the South Indian film industry, especially with her ample cleavage, thundering thighs and belly. Her flabby body is so on-the-face that it almost gets horrifying to see her gyrate to the songs. She does all she can to portray the 'magic' that Silk Smitha created with her dance moves but she rarely comes close to the actual Silk. The unabashed manner in which she performed and the way she controlled her body, never rub on Vidya.
However, there is no questioning her strength as a performer. There are moments when she radiates like true silk and shows gusto in her act. She is a born performer and she displays this magic especially well in the second half. She skillfully controls her moves so that they don't border on sleaze. Her casual attitude in the movie despite flaunting her bursting pot belly goes down as a mark of deep rooted commitment to the project.
The men in the movie come across at different stages of Silk's life and largely determine the outcome of her success and failure. Naseeruddin Shah as the outrageous 80's superstar Surya is at par with Vidya in terms of dedicated performance. In spite of his garish costumes and make-up, people see beyond his act as the scheming lech. Tusshar Kapoor's presence in the movie is largely a mystery to me. The character is dumb, insipid and irritating to a great extent and any other small time actor could've done more justice.
Emraan Hashmi, throughout the movie looks like he is suffering from a bout of his act in 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai'. He is 'the angry young man' of the film who predictably falls in love with the woman he loathes throughout the screen-time. For once, why couldn't the character remain true to itself instead of just fitting conveniently where the masses would want to see it.
Coming to the director, Milan Luthria cannot camouflage the deficiencies of the script. Silk's character gets confusing when she says that she is only a dancer and cannot act despite staunchly wanting to be an "actor" in the beginning. Her projection as an uncouth girl also takes a beating since she speaks in refined English each time. Some of the dialogues are unbelievably cheesy while most of the other are laced with sexual innuendos. The humor is also forced and the film would have done better without it.
It is only Balan who is the saving grace of 'The Dirty Picture'. Watching the movie never turns into an experience because of the terribly limited script. Neither does it offer the viewers a true glimpse of the late Silk Smitha nor does it bring forth a fresh appeal in its subject. Had there been no Vidya Balan in the movie, it would sure have gone in the dumps as a pitiable attempt to present the glorious life of a woman who brought sex from the bedrooms to the big screen.

7th Sense Movie Review
Film: 7th Sense
Starring: Surya, Shruti Haasan, Abinaya
Director: A.R Murugadoss
Producer: B Subrahmanyam
Banner: S Lakshmi Ganapathi Films
Music: Harris Jayraj
Story
The story takes off in the 6th Century AD showcasing the Tamil Pallava king Bodhi Dharma (Suriya), who leaves to China from Kanchipuram and becomes a saint. He is an expert at martial arts, medicine and hypnotism and he helps one whole village in the country with his arts. He teaches the martial arts and is the founder of Shaolin. He will be worshipped by all the Chinese as Tao after his demise. Cut to the present, Aravindh (Suriya) works as a circus artiste in Great Bombay Circus who falls for Suba Sreenivas (Sruthi), a research student. The duo becomes thick pals however Aravindh finds out that Suba has some motive behind her steps. Meanwhile, the Chinese government sends Dongli (Johnny Tri Nguyen), a martial art expert to India to accomplish the mission of Operation Red so as to kill Suba as she founds Aravinds DNA matches with that of Bodhidharma. How will they accomplish the task is all about the film.
Performances
As expected, Suriya amazes us with his performance in both the contrasting roles of Bodhidharma and a circus artist. The actor puts in his sincere efforts and all his hard work is visible on the screens. His dedication by the way he shapes up his physique for two distinct roles is laudable. He does such complex roles like Bodhidharma with ease and amazes us.
7am Arivu is a dream debut for Shruti Haasan. The multifaceted beauty has got a meaty role including few emotional scenes apart from the dance and romantic scenes. She looked like million bucks and her performance was okay.
Johnny Tri Nguyen as the deadly villain is extraordinary and terrific. Let’s welcome him to the Tamil cinema. Rest of the cast did their bit as required.
Technical Analysis
Music by Harris Jayraj is fine and Yelelema stands out onscreen. However, most of the numbers are wrongly placed that disappoints you. Cinematography by Ravi K chandran is on top notch and each of the frames is richly constructed. Visual effects are good in parts especially the first 20 minutes is a treat to watch. Rajeevan’s art needs a special mention. He brought out the 5th century works to screens with perfection. Antony’s editing is bad and most parts of the film are lagging. Though the direction was good, it was the screenplay that lets you down. Screenplay is sluggish and dull that takes away your interest. The dubbing was bad.
Analysis
Murugadoss should be applauded for coming up with such a novel idea but the director seems to have lacked in imagination to pull off the concept on screens. ARM has put the efforts in conveying the ancient story of Bodhidharma and has tried to connect it to the modern science. The concept rises up your curiosity to understand more of Bodhidharma and the ancient history. Unfortunately, 7th Sense fails in engaging the audience to the screens. Such films need a taut screenplay in keeping the viewers completely hooked but sadly, 7th Sense fails with amateurish and predictable sequences. Though, the film takes off well initially, it slowly loses its plot in the mid and unfortunately seem to be half-done.
Final Verdict
7th Sense could have been better. Nevertheless, it’s historical background, the deadly villain, gorgeous Shruti Haasan and ofcourse sincere efforts by Suriya works for the film.
Vaadu-Veedu Movie Review
Film: Vaadu Veedu
Starring: Vishal,Arya,Madhu Shalini,Janani Iyer,ambika and others
Director: Bala
Producer: Kalpathi S Aghoram
Banner: GK Film Corporation
Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Rating : 2.5/5.0
Vaadu Veedu Story:
Movie begins with the trade mark scenes of Bala. Walter (Vishal) and is the step brother of Dhandala Swamy(Arya). The brothers have a celebration time in their village living life in their own way but don’t maintain good relationship on each other as they have more ego rifts. Walter aspires to become and actor while his brother Swamy wants to turn as a petty thief.
Both Walter and Swamy work near one Jamindar (G M Kumar), who is a rich and influential landlord in the village. He sacrifices all his wealth for the villagers and commands their respect in return. One day Jamindar gets snubbed by a forest ranger and he decides to take revenge on them. As Walter and Swamy are very close to him he takes the help. In order to take revenge on the forest ranger the brothers block the way of and attack him. In the meantime Police rush to the spot but both escape from the spot.
Swamy falls in love with Madhu Shalini while his brother Walter loves a lady constable (Janani).
Meanwhile, Jamindar comes across a man (RK) a cattle smuggler who smuggles aged cows (incapable of providing milk) and sells them to buyers in Kerala for the sake of consumption as beef. The cows are purchased in accordance to its weight and ensure that they get more money, the sellers force the aged cows to consume thick layers of mud mixed with water as it would look hefty.
On knowing this Jamindar informs this to the Blue Cross and police and gets him arrested. But RK comes back and tries to revenge on Jamindar. How he takes revenge on the Jamindar? Will Vishal and Arya are able to save their Jamindar?
Performances:
Vishal, who has done mostly mass entertainers proved his mettle with this distinct film Vaadu Veedu. He has given an outstanding performance in the role of Walter. Vishal as squinted eye boy and also a transgender has delivered his best as one can watch his effort in each & every scene of the movie. The film will surely be a land mark film in Vishal’s career.
Arya has done his best with his dialogues and the humor part done by the film is an added flavour to the movie. All his hard work shows up in the film and has given a tough competition to Vishal in terms of performance but his character is on par with Vishal’s role.
Actress Madhu Shalini as the love interest of Arya did her role well and she looked apt for the role. Janani Iyer the new comer did perfect justice to the role of innocent police constable.
R.K excelled in the role of baddie and he is the perfect fit to the role. G. M. Kumar evoked outstanding humor and he is the big plus for comedy scenes. Ambika and Jaya Prabha as mothers to Vishal and Arya respectively have done a great job. Suriya’s cameo is one of the highlight in the movie.
Technicalities:
The best part of the film is Bala’s direction which is terrific and outstandingly brilliant. He should be appreciated for characterization and appropriate casting. But unlike Bala’s earlier outings Vaadu Veedu lacks in story. Though the characterizations and their establishment in the film are outstanding, the film falls short due to its thin story line. However Bala’s creative orientation in visualizing shots engages the audiences to the screens.
Background score and re-recording by Yuvan Shankar Raja is terrific but the songs are okay. Vishal's intro BGM is Yuvan's treat to the masses. Screenplay is good most of the times. Dialogues are mediocre. Cinematography by Arthur A. Wilson is top-class while Editing could have been more compact. Screenplay is the main plus point of the film. Action sequences are true to reality and effective.
Analysis:
First half of the film is outstanding while the second half has some dragging moments with very slow pace. However the director got back his pace in the pre climax. The last 30 mins of the film is effective again.
Vaadu Veedu doesn’t stand on par with Bala’s earlier films (which were much appreciated) in terms of its story, but over all the film is packed with humorous scenes. Vaadu Veedu can be enjoyed as a time-pass entertainer; it gives you a different experience watching a different film.

Mr Perfect overall Movie analysis
Like every Dil Raju film, this one too preaches about the family values and human bonding. Although the basic idea is good the film failed on the execution part.Realizations, discussions, relations, experiences… this forms the screenplay of this movie.Brahmanandam and Raghu Babu try too hard to make you laugh Only the formulaic presentation and family drama should help it to sustain at the box office.
Technicalities :
None of the songs are good on ears. Devi Sri Prasad’s tunes lacked novelty and energy. Background score is partly good. Editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh is standard. Cinematography by Vijay Chakravarthy is fine.
Dialogs written by Abburi Ravi are good in parts. One can notice that he is just rephrasing Trivikram’s dialogs.

Director Dasarath once again failed to recreate his Santosham magic. This film is heavily inspired from many hit films and Dasarath simply relies on formulaic scenes and content to score a hit. This film doesn’t do any
good for him as there is not a single scene that has shown director’s brilliance.
good for him as there is not a single scene that has shown director’s brilliance.
About Performances :
Prabhas performance is fine. He did his best to pull off a character which is low on energy. Actually, this role didn’t suit his persona. Prabhas is best when he is active and energetic. Uttering pages of
dialogs and using less muscle isn’t his forte. Kajal looked good in few scenes and bad in few. Inconsistent makeup is the main drawback. Her performance is good though. May be she is getting typecast these days.

Taapsee is Okay. She dubbed in her own voice. Prakash Raj did this type of role in every alternate film. He looked bored. Murali Mohan and K. Vishwanadh scare you every time they open their mouth. They keep on preachingmoral values of life.Brahmanandam is routine and Raghubabu is loud. There is nothing much to say about the remaining star cast.
Final Verdict : Willing to watch the same old Family drama then book your tickets.
